3) VERITAS CONFERENCE

~ September 6th, the date of the Veritas conference, is fast approaching. If you are planning to go, please sign up in the lobby this Sunday.

Veritas is a workshop focused on “Church Growth and Evangelism designed to help churches assess their current level of vitality with the intention of encouraging them to become a more healthy (pursuing Christ) and missional (pursuing Christ’s priorities in the world) church. This church-life-changing workshop will be held at Hilmar Covenant Church on Saturday, September 6. Alan Forsman, known to many of us at Cornerstone, will serve as leader.

The workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Lunch is provided,

compliments of the conference.

5) SUMMERTIME IN AND AROUND CORNERSTONE

~ College and Young Adult Bible Study, meets tonight at the Oppenhuizen’s, 7:00 p.m.

~ Worship Team Practice 8-10 pm at church.

~ Church office will be closed, Monday, September 1st, in observance to Labor Day!

~ Monday Morning Men’s Prayer has moved to Fridays!

NO Monday morning Men’s Prayer, on September 1^st. Group will resume Friday, Sept. 5^th 2008 @ 6:00 am in Pastor’s Study.

~ NO Sign Language Class on Monday September 1st, class will resume Monday, September 8, at 5:30 p.m.

~ Family Fun Night! Friday September 5, at 4-7 p.m. right here at Cornerstone – All ages are welcome!

6) CHRISTIAN FORMATION

~ Rally Sunday, September 7. Brunch at 8:30 AM on Patio – Come and hear all the exciting Sunday School offerings and Midweek options for Small Groups!!

~ Prizes! We need prizes!! Please fill the bin in the lobby with Sunday school prizes. Shop for preschoolers all the way through high school age. Inexpensive ideas include gum, candy, little toys, Jamba Juice/ McDonald’s/Starbucks gift cards. Look at Wal-Mart, Target, and Pop’s Bargain Outlet

~ 6 pm ROC meets at Cornerstone

~ Cornerstone Covenant Jr. High Youth Ministries has a new look and name!

”EPIDEMIC” – (to spread rapidly affecting all that it touches) and will begin in September. Dates TBA.

~ Jr. High Students, ENDLESS SUMMER RETREAT IS COMING!

September 26-28, travel to Mission Springs in Santa Cruz for a weekend of fun activities, new friends, energetic worship, and quality Bible teaching. To register, please fill out the Registration form and return it to Pastor Greg or the Church office, NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 12^th Cost is $94, (scholarships available).

VOLUNTEERS! WE NEED YOU!!!

~ Cornerstone is hosting the Release Time Religious Instruction once again for Medeiros & Dennis Earl School. This is an awesome opportunity for us to be part of a citywide ministry. Volunteers who can offer transportation for the children and who will pray are needed. All children wanting to participate must have a permission slip – these are available in the office

~ CALLING ALL MUSICALLY INCLINED PEOPLE!!

Who? Anyone who is currently involved in worship at CCC; those who interested in being involved in music in any capacity (i.e. worship team, organizing special music, substitute musician, soundboard operator, power point specialist, ect.)

When? September 14^th, (following worship service)

Where? Cornerstone Youth Room

What? A meeting to get to know Maggie, discuss expectations, set rehearsal times, and vote on a band name!

I NEED TO BRING WHAT? Your calendar and an open mind J

~ CHURCH OFFICE

Assist with special projects for church ministries: copying, stuffing Newsletter and Worship Bulletin, mailings, and various small task, as well as answering phones and greeting visitors in the office (Of course we will train you).

“The Giving Tree

A big thank you to those who took applies from the Moms Together Giving Tree, and for those already signed up for childcare for the fall. We have a few more spots to fill in September and October J

In addition, we are in need of some extra hands for Our Welcome Brunch & Cook Crew for September 11. Alan is having eye surgery that day and Rosy, our publicist may be out with Jury Duty that day. The extra hands would be an awesome support!
