9) SHARING THE WORD
“Surely, the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.” Gemesos 28:16
Jacob had got mixed up in some very ugly transactions and, fleeing from the wrath of his brother, he was tired from the day’s journey and he fell asleep. He awoke; amazed to find God was with him in mercy and kindness, hence the exclamation! The common tendency is to forget that God is always with us, although Jesus said it very definitely. Our daily transactions would be different if we could bring ourselves to the realization of the fact. On the other hand, what comfort there would be amid our disappointments and sorrows. In every one of us is a sanctuary which God never leaves. “Know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you which you have from God?”
Rev. Peter Ainslie, D.D., baltimore, Maryland
