History

Cornerstone Covenant Church was the vision of a few families who wanted to have an impact on the growing north side of Turlock. With the blessing of the long-established Turlock Covenant Church, and the denominational support of the Evangelical Covenant Church and its Pacific Southwest Conference, a mission pastor was called in the summer of 1994. Pastor Brian Johnson led the group through the opening phases of its ministry and handed the baton over to Pastor Brad Boydston in the summer of 1995.

Cornerstone currently averages about 180 people in worship each Sunday – including children and adults. Children are important in our worship and are often involved in reading scripture or drama. A special children’s message is frequently included in the worship service.

In October of 2000 we broke ground for the first of three buildings that we expect to build at Crowell Rd. and Christoffersen Pkwy. The first phase, a multipurpose building, was completed in September 2001.

Today, Cornerstone is led by Senior Pastor Kevin David and Associate Pastor Greg Oppenhuizen.
